Cara Temmel was born and raised in the Gulf Islands and is excited to be back on Salt Spring, supporting her home community through her work in movement and rehabilitation. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria in 2012 and later earned her Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Science from the University of British Columbia in 2017, studying part-time while continuing to work in clinical practice.

With over a decade of experience in both large multidisciplinary settings and smaller private clinics, Cara has helped patients recover from injury, manage chronic pain, and gain confidence in their movement.
She brings a patient-focused, evidence-informed approach to her work, emphasizing clear guidance, purposeful exercise, and consistent support to help people achieve meaningful, lasting results.

Exercise Therapy & Functional Rehabilitation
Cara’s practice centers on helping patients improve strength, mobility, and functional movement patterns. She focuses on:
-
Injury recovery and return-to-activity programs
-
Chronic pain management
-
Postural and movement re-training
-
Exercise instruction and progression
-
Building confidence and self-efficacy in movement
Her goal is to help patients understand their bodies, perform exercises effectively, and develop long-term strategies that support a healthier, more resilient lifestyle.

When she’s not in the clinic or The Well Gym, you’ll find Cara spending time outdoors with her family, hiking local trails, crocheting, or tending to her garden — often with the same patience and care she brings to her work with patients.
